#2 TACTICAL COMMAND was well punted to win three runs back when he dropped into class 5 and drew the inside gate.Conditions change tonight as he takes on the shorter distance of the 1000m for the first time in his career.His efforts across his past three starts have certainly been credible with wide barriers and awkward beginnings making it difficult for him to win.Alexis Badel knows him well and they should position handy from the nice draw, allowing him to challenge for the win.

  		R2 H6  ran better than the bare result when a strong finishing fourth, less than a length behind the runner-up, last time having to be ridden from the back after being squeezed up early in the race. Whilst the selection is no leader, he has recorded two wins over course & trip this season when tracking the speed. From the draw in 1, he should be able to do that here, and with winner rider Ellis Wong back on board, he’ll benefit from a 10lb claim.  

R3 H5  well & truly defied market expectations (78.00 tote) when runner-up on debut over course & trip last month when he was snagged back from the stalls before rattling late to only just miss. Perhaps he caught connections by surprise, but there’s no reason to think it was a fluke, with the selection running through the line strongly. If they ride him the same way, he may need some luck, but there’s a solid enough gallop on offer which will help, and he’s entitled to improve further.
